What
is Individual Therapy?
This is the
type of therapy
that most people prefer,
mainly because it offers a lot of flexibility in terms of time and
cost. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and most people in individual
therapy meet with me for one session every week, for at least 10 weeks.
The idea of one-on-one therapy is to help you become increasingly
aware of your own patterns of thought, so ideally, therapy should
become
less and less necessary as you gain insight into your habits,
tendencies and blind spots. Since therapy is such an individual and
subjective experience, the kinds of
conversations we might have will depend on the relationship we
develop, the issues we want to discuss, and the
different ways I might be able to guide you.
Elemental Therapy is not
affiliated with any clinic or mental health organization. I do not
deal
with insurance companies or third parties, and I will never release any
information about you, without exception. Confientiality is crucial.
You need to be completely comfortable in therapy. It goes without
saying that I will not
discuss your case, or even your status as a client, with anyone else.
This is important to note, because the only way progress will be made
in therapy is if you feel completely free to be as open and honest as
possible, however difficult it may be to do so.
